Sometimes it’s nice to break up wedding season with a lovely family portrait session, where we can all just hang out (with babies!) without deadlines. I was delighted to do just that with the absolutely adorable Hokanson family. I shot Erin and Ryan’s wedding too, so this was so special for me to see this next step in their journey together.
This session was to commemorate little Charlie’s first birthday, as well as nab some family shots, and we had such a fun, relaxed time doing it. If you have kids, you know that the first birthday celebration is actually for the parents, to congratulate ourselves on surviving that first year and keeping our babes in one piece! It’s a feat. Let me tell you. So I was all too happy to celebrate all the Hokansons with this special shoot.
Despite it being later in the evening, Charlie was such an amazing sport for us, laughing and scooting around while we tried to set up shots. I was absolutely loving that little birthday crown too. Gives me such ‘Where the Wild Things Are’ vibes, and I am all in on that.
I probably could’ve spent another hour taking pictures of that little face, but alas, all good things must come to an end, and they had to put that baby to bed. Thanks Erin and Ryan for letting me capture your gorgeous little family!
