Emma + Cassie | Vintage Bookstore and Bowling Alley Engagement

Meet Emma and Cassie, an extraordinary couple who knows how to make love look like a fun-filled, bespoke adventure.

This dynamic duo is all about intentionality and infusing their essence into their upcoming nuptials. It’ll be a perfect homage of their values: their love for family, and their commitment to each other (plus a substantial excitement for specialty hot dogs, if you ask Cassie). 

Their love story is as unique as their wedding plans, and Emma and Cassie wanted their engagement session to mirror the same vibrancy and authenticity, which we did buy hitting their favorite spots!

Our first photogenic location was none other than Decades – a boutique bowling alley, bar, and arcade in Lancaster, PA. This isn’t your average date night spot. It’s a place with a retro vibe that makes every game of Pac-Man feel like a step back in time. There’s something sublime about capturing a couple in the throes of laughter over a frantic game of air hockey or a shared pretzel at the bar.

But it’s not all skeeball and ten pins that light this couple up.

In the spirit of their shared love for literature and tranquil moments, our next photo locale was the charming Pocket Books bookshop in Lancaster. This bookshop that feels like a step back in time, (in the BEST way), was so cozy and inviting as we perused the stacks.

Navigating through aisles of novels with them felt like stepping into a story about two people who are finally getting their happy ending.

When they’re not whooping it up in the bowling lanes, or nose down in a book, Emma and Cassie would prefer to spend their time with their pups, whether that’s walking them down to their favorite coffee shop, or snuggled up on the couch, watching TV, followed by a home-cooked meal and plenty of lounging.

For their wedding, Emma and Cassie envisioned a fusion of rustic woodland aesthetics with their love for the urban heart of Philadelphia. A total delight for the senses, with jewel tones, velvets, vintage furniture, florals and greenery aplenty, and tons of warm lighting, I was thrilled thinking about it all coming together in such a modern urban space.

I mean, locally sourced food, natural wine, and a funky local band to set the mood? What’s not to like? And let’s not forget about the big celebration! With a huge family that knows how to bring the house down, the pair was planning to make it one for the record books.

Their choice of wedding venue, Philadelphia’s Fitler Club, is a perfect balance of city sophistication and rustic charm that expertly aligned with their vision for the day. I can’t wait to share those photos too!
