Sophia and Jay’s April wedding in Baltimore was a beautiful celebration held at the picturesque (and one of my all-time favorite venues) Mt. Washington Mill Dye House. This Bmore wedding was a beautiful blend of simplicity, elegance, and heartfelt moments. With 175 guests joining them, Sophia and Jay’s wedding day photography was all about capturing the little moments between them and their guests.
The day began in a Harbor East hotel, where Sophia and her bridesmaids got all dolled up together while wearing the cutest PJ’s that added a touch of fun and comfort to the morning. Sophia and Jayson shared their first look on the hotel’s terrace overlooking the city they call home. After meeting with their wedding party, we all meandered to Baltimore’s waterfront for some quintessential Bmore photo opps.
The ceremony took place at the stunning Mt. Washington Mill Dye House, a premier Baltimore venue known for its industrial charm and timeless elegance. Sophia and Jay’s simplistic blue and white color palette, accented with minimal yet lush greenery, executed by the floral team at Wanton Poppies created a serene and sophisticated atmosphere.
Sophia and Jayson envisioned their wedding day as a joyful gathering of loved ones, and their vision came to life with an atmosphere of excitement and fun. The presence of friends and family from out of town added an extra layer of warmth to the celebration. Even though the day was, of course, organized, Sophia and Jay wanted to stick with a “Go With the Flow” mentality. I love this approach as it allows the guests and the couple to fully enjoy the festivities without the constraints of a rigid schedule. The reception was a lively party filled with laughter, heartfelt toasts, and plenty of dancing, reflecting the couple’s desire for a fun and memorable evening.
One of the cutest and most unique aspects of Sophia and Jayson’s wedding was the Cookie Table. This tradition, typically in Pittsburgh, PA and Youngstown, Ohio, where Jayson is from, featured a table laden with a variety of homemade cookies for guests to enjoy. Jay’s parents made a touching speech explaining the origin and significance of this tradition.
Reflecting on this Baltimore spring wedding, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunity to document days such as this one.
