Sammie and Tim have been in front of my camera a lot over the years, and it’s been amazing to see their relationship grow. I first photographed their engagement back in 2019, then their 2020 micro-wedding (because COVID changed everything), followed by their full wedding in 2021, and now here we are again, four years later capturing yet another beautiful milestone. This year, for their 4-year anniversary, they wanted to keep the tradition going with another session—and of course, their sweet dog Lewes made an appearance.
The session happened on a rainy day in Baltimore, but luckily, we picked a location that worked in any forecast. To be honest, it actually added a cool vibe to the photos. The overcast skies and light rain gave the pictures a bit of moodiness, which made them feel more intimate and real. Sometimes, unpredictable weather works in your favor, and this session was a good example of that.
I’ve been there for pretty much every major moment in Sammie and Tim’s story, and each time I photograph them, it’s clear how strong their connection is. This session was no different—they’re just as goofy, in love, and comfortable around each other as ever. It’s been fun to watch how they’ve grown together, and they still manage to make each other laugh constantly, which makes for some great candid shots.
Just like their anniversary sesh a couple of years ago, their dog Lewes joined in for the shoot, and honestly, he’s always a hit. It’s fun watching them interact with him because it brings out the playful side of both Sammie and Tim. Plus, Lewes is a natural when it comes to being in front of the camera. He was running around in the drizzle and just being his usual adorable self, which made the whole session feel even more laid-back and fun.
This 4th anniversary session was really about Sammie and Tim just being themselves—relaxed, happy, and enjoying the moment (rain and all). I’ve loved getting to document their relationship over the years, and it’s always fun catching up and capturing these little milestones with them. Here’s to more sessions with these two and, hopefully, more cameos from Lewes!
