This family photo session holds a special place in my heart because I have been capturing Madison and Tim’s special moments since 2019.
My connection with the Ramirez family goes way back. I first crossed paths with Madison at a wedding I was photographing, where she was one of the makeup artists for the day. One year later, I found myself as the photographer at their wedding.
Fast forward to today, and here we are, embracing the joy, excitement, and downright emotional rollercoaster that is parenthood. Capturing this family’s growth has been nothing short of something special.
For this family session, Madison and Tim wanted to make it as sentimental as possible by choosing their 4th wedding anniversary date (November 8th), their wedding location, and even recreating similar shots that we captured at their wedding and maternity shoot, now including their beautiful new baby Jackson.
As I mentioned earlier, we were sticking to their roots! The same spot where they exchanged vows four years ago became the canvas for this new chapter. With the urban aesthetic of Fishtown, Philadelphia, the vibrant street art, and trendy cafes created a dynamic atmosphere that helped us capture a variety of photos for this session. While exploring the different backdrops that this city offers, I couldn’t help but think that revisiting familiar places adds an extra sprinkle of nostalgia, don’t you think?
I have to say, although the whole day was very special and beautiful to capture, one of the sweetest parts of the shoot was recreating a shot that we took of them as a couple before Jackson was born. You know, that one picture-perfect moment that becomes a tradition? Well, we took that same frame from their wedding, tweaked it for the maternity shoot, and now, here we are, capturing Madison holding baby Jackson in the same loving embrace.
Life is funny that way, isn’t it? Full of circles, echoes of the past, and new beginnings. And I’m just here, lucky enough to freeze those moments in time for families like theirs. What better way to transition from saying “I Do” to “We’re three” than with a session where we can capture moments they will remember forever?
It’s genuinely such a privilege to be part of their evolving story, and I look forward to capturing more of their family’s special moments in the years to come.
