Put on your party hats because we’re about to go for a ride!
Maggie and Luke got married at Excelsior this spring and it was one that is going to go down in the books. THREE disco balls. Need I say more?
Should I have expected anything less from a bride that told me “I aspire to an event that people feel like they can let their hair down and just have a dang good time. The only things Luke and I take seriously are desserts & trying to make each other laugh.” I mean, what else IS there to take seriously? Can I get that energy for the rest of the year please? Thanks.
For their engagement shoot, which you can see here, we had a hilarious time crisscrossing the Brooklyn Bridge, and I knew that their wedding day was going to be fun, but I was was not prepared for the riot of colors and the joy that was seeping out of everything.
Maggie landed on a theme where classy and kitsch collided at full speed and I am HERE for it. She didn’t get the adult face painter that she wanted but man would I have been in line for that. Clean lines, bright colors and very little connection to the majority of traditional wedding activities, the couple decided to make their day perfectly reflective of the humor and love they share.
Special shout out to Splints and Daisies who absolutely showed up with their A-game with these amazing floral arrangements that were like sunshine and rainbows balled into one.
Maggie even asked for their cake to be a full surprise to Luke because she planned a cake topper of a Bride and Groom Godzilla modeled after what his parents had on their cake.
Obsessed.
Anyway, as I’m sure you can tell, we had ourselves a good time. Maggie and Luke rocked the hell out of their wedding. There were novelty glasses, disco sparkles, and lots and lots of laughter. Do you need anything else?
Thanks for taking me along for the ride, I wish you all the best in your next chapter!
