Lila + Chris | A Downtown West Chester Engagement Session

What I love about engagement session is more than just capturing beautiful photos; it’s about showcasing a couple’s unique story and their real life. Lil and Chris’s West Chester engagement session was filled with meaningful moments, their favorite local spots, and even a cameo from their adorable dog, Nova. Set against the charming backdrop of downtown West Chester, Pennsylvania, this session was one for the books.

We kicked off the session at one of this couples favorite places in town, Bar Avalon. This cozy spot was perfect for them to relax and enjoy some espresso martinis and some of their go-to dishes. What better way to start off the evening with an espresso martini and a plate of delicious pasta. After Bar Avalon, we took a leisurely stroll down Gay Street, which is a bustling hub in West Chester. The historic charm of the area paired with the vibrant energy of local businesses made for a dynamic setting.

No engagement session is complete without a little something sweet, IMO! We stopped at D’Ascenzo’s Gelato, a local favorite, for a quick break. Lil and Chris grabbed their favorite flavors, and it was so fun to capture them in such a relaxed and joyful moment. Photos of couples enjoying ice cream or gelato always bring a playful vibe, and these ones were no exception.

Lil and Chris’s dog, Nova, made a brief but memorable appearance during the session. Their friends brought Nova to meet us, and we captured a few precious shots with her. Our furry friends are such an important part of many couples’ lives, and including them in engagement photography adds an extra layer of personality and love to the session.

Downtown West Chester has so much to offer. The mix of quaint streets, historic charm, and local businesses creates a unique atmosphere that’s hard to beat. It’s a great option for couples who want a mix of urban and cozy vibes for their photos.
