While weddings are obviously about the bride and groom, underneath, it is SUCH a family affair.
I mean, if it weren’t, everyone would elope, right?
Yes, some people just want a big party. The majority of the couples I’m privileged to work with, however, say the same thing when they’re filling out questionnaires about their big day:
“I just want to celebrate and have fun with all the people I love most in the world, all in one place.”
I am all for that. Whether it’s the family you’re born into, or the family you build, they usually play a supporting role in your romance and have been along for the journey.
This was particularly important for this couple, Lexi and Brian. Again and again, they stressed how much they wanted to be surrounded by family on their wedding day and to have photos captured of their loved ones as well as themselves.
Both bride and groom came from big families in the Philadelphia area, and the couple regularly traveled to see them after Brian was stationed in Maryland for his military service. Spending time with their dearest ones was a huge priority to them, especially with the knowledge that the couple would have to go to his next duty station not long after their wedding day.
So, their wedding ended up being a little bit of a going away party as much as a celebration of their union. Bittersweet, but incredibly meaningful.
You could see how much love these two had for each other and for every person that stood around them, supporting them.
Surrounded by their romantic and timeless accents of whites, greens and wood tones, lifted up by a wedding party in beautiful shades of blue, and taking that next step into their new chapter together, Lexi and Brian had the most beautiful wedding day and send-off.
It was a true joy to document these moments for them, and I wish them luck on their next adventure!
