As a mom of two, it probably comes as no surprise that I am a sucker for a baby as a member of the wedding party. CUTE. With Kate and Mike’s lovely fall wedding, I got to shoot my baby-loving heart out with their precious little girl. What a family!
Let me just tell you that when the day finally came to watch these two get married, it was a celebration and a half! Kate and Mike were one of my couples that got absolutely whipsawed in the pandemic. They ended up eloping in the summer of 2020, which I also go to capture, so this was a vow renewal for the friends and family that didn’t get to attend! We took a very long journey to get them to this celebration but, WE ARRIVED, and with a cute new passenger in tow!
The feeling of joy to finally all be together and celebrating was evident throughout the day, as friends and family lingered and chatted, happy to shower this oh-so-deserving bride and groom (and little lady) in love and well wishes for the culmination of their union. Kate and Mike were so happy to finally make it official after 2 1/2 years of emotional ups and downs, and you could read the joy on their faces throughout the day.
As getting ready gave way to sweet little gifts to their inner circle, to first looks in manicured gardens, to that all-important moment of watching each other get closer from across an aisle, Kate and Mike basked in it all, thrilled to finish one chapter of their story and move on excitedly to the next. When they finally said their ‘I do’s’, there was a moment where I almost expected party poppers to mark the occasion, the atmosphere was so revelatory.
And that certainly carried on through the reception! The Barn at Silverstone echoed with laughter (and a fair amount of singing) for hours. I couldn’t have been happier for their little family. I look forward to what life brings them next!
