I have the unique privilege of seeing a lot of couples exchanging vows, and one thing I have soft spot for is an intimate wedding. Erin and Jordan’s Promise Ridge wedding was a stunning example of all the amazing things about keeping it small.
The bride and groom wanted to tie the knot in a space where they could drown in the love of their dearest ones, and they found it here, among the treetops of Promise Ridge.
I first got to experience their adorable relationship at their engagement session at Longwood Gardens, which you can see here. There we were, surrounded by nature in full bloom – Spring-kissed flowers with no sneezes – just love.
Seriously though, pro tip from a veteran photographer: an indoor garden is the answer if you want the beauty of the outdoors in your photos, but you’re pollen-challenged like the three of us are.
But anyway, fast forward to the wedding day, and I met up with Erin right in time to get into her wedding dress. She spent the morning getting ready at her mom’s house, and I thought that was so brand for their intimate wedding; The familiarity of the space, the nostalgia of growing up, it all added to the charm of the day.
Promise Ridge is more than just a venue. It’s a perfect canvas for a love story, with amenities that complement so many couples that fall in love with the space. The breathtaking view, the intimacy it offers – it was exactly what Erin and Jordan had been looking for on their wedding day.
Keeping it simple, to not compete with the grandeur of the surroundings, their wedding decor bore the stamp of their personalities – classic and romantic, with a hint of fun. A dramatic green and white bountiful floral tablescape was the showstopper at the dinner celebration, a feast for the eyes before the actual feast.
During the sweet ceremony, you could feel the love swirling about the open-air platform. Erin had shared, “Jordan and I hope that our guests feel how much we love each other and how much we truly love and appreciate each and every person invited to celebrate with us”, and their wedding was a total testament to that love.
The reception was also a heartfelt reflection of their life. Some of their favorite memories were sitting down eating dinner together ( Erin’s my mom had a custom made table to fit 14 people for the dining room!) so they wanted their after party to have that same feel. Great food, great company, and great conversation to begin their journey together as husband and wife.
They walked into their journey as husband and wife amidst the people they cherished, under the stars, with love in their hearts and laughter in the air.
It was an absolute pleasure to be part of their special day. I would like to thank Erin and Jordan for inviting me to capture their Promise Ridge union. It was an event filled with deliciously slow moments, so much happiness, and memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.
