Ashlie + Chris | Moody Fall Wedding on the Farm
Ashlie and Chris are a couple I will never forget because when we shot their woodsy engagement in Nolde Forest a couple of years ago, we also snuck in a couple of baby announcement photos!
So, not only was I so happy to help them spread the word about their new bundle of joy, I also knew I was going to get to play with a baby at their wedding! Tiny kids in suits and formal dresses? Yes, ma’am. That’s for me.
The bride and groom took me out to The Farm Bakery and Events for their big day, and it was fun to shoot in a place I don’t visit 5 or 6 times a year like I do some of my regular beloved spots. I had a ball exploring this sweet little farm for Ashlie and Chris’ moody wedding.
Ashlie shared that she always dreamed of a winter wedding with lots of greenery, candles, and warm woods with a romantic look. Their moody, vintage, and timeless wedding achieved just that.
Rustic wood tables and string lights in the open rafters, bud vases, candle sticks, and cotton paper table numbers and signage, even the welcome mirror from the couple’s own home created a cozy comfortable atmosphere.
Ashlie was intent on creating lots of special accents for her wedding day herself, down to the dying of all the wood flowers for her gorgeous wedding bouquet. Woman of many talents, that one.
But there was one thing she was the most excited for, and it was having her son, Parker, be a part of the (second) most special day of her and Chris’s life (I’m sure you can guess that the first was Parker’s birthday).
And oh man, that little boy won EVERYONE’s hearts, right until the last moment where he fell asleep in the middle of the party. So, so cute in his little jacket with his beaming mom and dad.
Ashlie was hoping that time would slow down on her wedding day, so she could savor all the special moments. I don’t know if that happened for her, but I hope, at least, these photos can freeze some time for her to relive these magic moments.
