Emily and Jack came to me by way of a group of awesome former brides who are all friends and whose weddings that I have also had the privilege to capture! They are also all friends of my brother’s and he always reminds me that I should owe him a referral fee 😉
I just love working with people time and again, because each time I get to hang out with this lovely group, we all get to know each other better and better. That’s one of the tenets of an amazing photography experience, being comfortable with the person behind the lens!
Now that it was her turn at the alter, Emily communicated that they valued the four Cs, which I’m quoting her as “Casual, Comfortable, Classy, (C)traditional (lol)”. She made me laugh and I can definitely get behind those philosophies.
Getting married at Historic Ashland, which is a gorgeous outdoor venue, she knew that she really wanted the venue to shine through, specifically the red brick and then wooden beams, so she chose colors that were very natural. From her jewel-toned bridesmaids and groomsmen attire, to white flowers with lots of greenery, the couple was looking for a natural relaxed atmosphere where their guests felt very welcome and comfortable.
Emily noted that she and Jack were the opposite of stuffy, so they wanted their wedding day to reflect that, and were thrilled to just celebrate their really special day with some of their favorite people in the world.
I think they achieved just that!
From the sweet moments in first looks with dad, to that magical look down the aisle, to the familial atmosphere of the reception, I had so much fun getting to hang out with this great group again. Can’t wait for the next one!
