Meredith and Alec’s wedding day was a study in composition for me. Not all brides are looking for wedding photos that lean on the editorial side, with dramatic lighting and angles, but Meredith was one of those, and I’m always up to shake things up a bit, particularly at a venue that I frequent as much as Parque.
When Olivia chose the venue, she saw it as “gorgeous and so detailed”, so she knew that it would lend itself to the kind of artistic shots she was hoping for, especially since she planned on juxtaposing the natural splendor of Parque against the more formal and clean elements of their wedding decor.
While the goal was always “a really happy, emotional, love filled day“, she was just as thrilled with seeing her aesthetic come to life, with the classic, sophisticated, and modern elements she’d been imagining. It was a dreamy combination of white and black, some greenery, and a mix of gold and taupe accents.
She envisioned “black tuxes, champagne cocktails, satin dresses, taper candles, and flowers.” I mean, I’m in. You can’t go wrong with that combo!
Watching the day come to life with the richness of texture that she was looking for really helped me capture the emotional undercurrent of the wedding, that fab mixture of nerves and relief that swirls through all these beautiful milestones.
From a sweet first look, to the romance of their vows, Olivia and Mark moved with grace through their special moments, happy to be surrounded by their loved ones. Followed up by a cocktail hour with live music and lots of bangin’ Beatles songs. Olivia and Mark created a great atmosphere where their guests got to relax and enjoy the venue, and delight in great cocktails, food, and company.
I wish the happy couple nothing but the best!
