What would you imagine if I told you a wedding was going to be simple with a dash of Art Deco/Gatsby? Does your mind run as wild as mine did? Were you thinking of modern accents surrounding giant champagne towers and fireworks? Yep, just me, then.
Either way it swung, I was excited to be there.
When you meet Olivia and Mark, it becomes immediately clear where the crossroads of uncomplicated and Gatsby came from. Olivia confessed that her world would be 50 shades of teal if she let it, while Mark leans toward cozy and rustic vibes. I love a couple who are a study in opposites.
While they both like photography and music, Mark is the person behind the rhythm and the lens, and Olivia is much more likely to be the muse, bringing it all together with her infectious personality. You’ll see what I mean when you see the photos.
And the bride was the first one to tell me that she and her future spouse are fairly different, but that can make for a great set of wedding photos. Watching a couple come together with opposing but complementary energy and chemistry makes some wedding day magic!
On their big day at Parque Ridley Creek, we had an absolute ball, just as anticipated. That venue has such amazing visuals with all the greenery, that it surely gave our shots simple elegance when we could all keep a straight face.
Ultimately, when Olivia and Mark walked down the aisle and walked out husband and wife, the differences in their personalities faded into the background and were overshadowed by the perfect fit of their union. Surrounded by family and friends after a long pandemic separation, it was clear that these lovebirds were ready to jump with joy, head first, into the rest of their lives together.
Olivia and Mark, thank you for taking me along for the ride!
