Sam + Kyle | Spring Maternity Session

Returning to capture another milestone in the lives of past clients is always a joy for any photographer. Recently, I had the pleasure of reuniting with Sam and Kyle, a couple whose love story I’ve had the privilege of documenting since their engagement session in 2019, followed by their beautiful wedding in 2020. Fast forward to today, four years later, and I once again have the honor of photographing their intimate maternity session as they prepare to welcome their baby girl into the world. With their nursery theme set as a fairytale garden with pastel tones, Sam envisioned a photo session that mirrored the enchanting ambiance of their nursery. Set against the backdrop of their own land in Hanover, PA where they plan to build their forever home next year, this maternity session was filled with love and the beauty of nature.

For their boho-inspired session, Sam and Kyle wanted a very natural, intimate vibe. With Sam in a flowing dress and the nature backdrop, the setting exuded bohemian charm, while Kyle kept it casual yet stylish in earthy tones and relaxed attire. Their choice of outfits perfectly complemented the natural beauty of the outdoor setting, creating a whimsical and romantic atmosphere. Inspired by their baby girl’s nursery theme, Sam and Kyle wanted the setting of their photo session to reflect the magical charm of a fairytale garden. Their land in Hanover provided the perfect backdrop, with its picturesque pond, open fields, and lush greenery. We wandered through the fields, pausing by the tranquil pond, and exploring hidden nooks. Every corner of their property exuded a sense of enchantment, mirroring the fairytale ambiance Sam had envisioned for their maternity session.

As we captured precious moments amidst the beauty of their land, it was impossible to ignore the significance of the place where Sam and Kyle plan to build their forever home. With each photo, we captured not just the anticipation of their baby girl’s arrival but also the dreams and aspirations they hold for their growing family. During the session, Sam carried a photograph of her grandmother, someone who was very dear to Samantha. To pull at your heart strings even more, this was a touching tribute to her dear grandmother since their baby girl would be named after her.

Towards the end of the shoot, Sam and Kyle decided to change into more casual attire, bringing a relaxed vibe to their maternity session. They both slipped into jeans and simple t-shirts, with Sam playfully revealing her baby bump beneath a flowing white blouse. This effortless outfit change added a touch of spontaneity to the session, showcasing the fun-loving spirit and the deep bond they share. It was a heartwarming glimpse into their playful side, and their genuine affection for each other came alive in these final moments of the shoot.

Sam and Kyle’s Hanover session was a testament to the beauty of love and new beginnings. The intention behind choosing this location to capture the essence of their growing family and the excitement of welcoming their baby girl into the world was really beautiful to capture. I look forward to working with these two again for their family session once their little angel has arrived!
