Many couples have a vision in mind for their wedding day, one that perfectly captures their personalities and style, but when Tori and John reached out to me about their future wedding day, they proved to be a fun exception to the rule.
I think I could’ve guessed that about them when we went frolicking in Virginia during their engagement session.
Tori and John were good with figuring it out as they went along, and knowing it would all come together in due time. I loved that for them. Luckily, for this beautiful couple, the Winslow Room in Baltimore, Maryland, was the perfect blank canvas to be inspired by.
Eventually, Tori and John landed on a mix of “dark, moody, formal, romantic, and yet delicate”, which I thought sound lovely for the urban feel of Baltimore. The bride wanted to bring in the industrial feel of the Winslow room while incorporating colorful and delicate florals.
And that’s exactly what she got, with The Winslow Room providing the perfect backdrop for her vision. The exposed brick walls, metal staircases, and dark wooden elements created the perfect canvas for this romantic, industrial vibe.
Flowers played a big part in bringing the delicate portion of her wedding vision to life. The bride’s dress was adorned with delicate floral embellishments that moved as she walked, and the flowers throughout the venue incorporated creamy white and rose tones, adding a pop of color and breath of lightness to the heavier industrial feel of the surroundings. It was gorg.
The ceremony was intimate, even with a 227 person guest list, with heartfelt words spoken by their families, and even some hilarious moments with bridal party antics. It was a beautiful moment capped off with roaring applause. And then the party began!
The upbeat, lively music during cocktail hour had guests ready to hit the dance floor, and the Winslow Room’s two story reception space provides plenty of space for a full-on dance party. With romantic lighting, lush florals, industrial accents, and a raging dance floor, it was a reception to remember!
The party didn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon when I bid my goodbyes, and that’s how it should be!
I loved being part of this laid back and easy-going wedding between two people who were so perfectly suited for one another. Thanks for having me lovelies!
