What is it about a little black dress? It works for every season of life.
I first met Sam and Bobby during their laid back woodsy engagement session, the bond they had was so apparent. They were naturals as we walked though the tree line and captured them being their carefree authentic selves.
Then I had the privilege of witnessing their love grow on their wedding day at that Barn at Silverstone, where they got all dolled up in their fancy wedding duds and cheered on the official start of the next chapter of their story.
Then I got the email.
It invariably starts we “We have some news…”
So I hold my breath until I read the next line.
“We’re expecting a baby!”
And then I do a Peanuts-style happy dance around my desk, internally celebrating what wonderful parents this little one will have.
So, in joint celebration, we planned a maternity session at Longwood Gardens, a place that Sam and Bobby had a meaningful connection with. Long before babies and weddings, they frequented Longwood as teenagers, not knowing the lovely future that was ahead of them.
That same easy and carefree engaged couple showed up to their maternity shoot, and we talked about the magic and madness of parenting. It’s all crazy, but it’s all beautiful.
I loved being able to catch up with these two, and now I love watching them parent even more! Thank you for inviting me back into your lives!
