Tori + John | Idyllic Forest Engagement

I love when I get an excuse to travel somewhere fabulous for a wedding or, in this case, engagement session. It fills up my little traveler’s heart!

Though Tori and John are currently calling coastal South Carolina home, they’re getting married in Maryland where Tori grew up, and closer to where she and John met in college at Shenandoah University.

The pair spent some formative years hiking the trails and valleys of Bluemont, Virginia, (their first date was a hike!) so they thought it fitting to shoot their engagement session in the place where they fell in love.

Even though they’ve swapped hiking for surfing out there in Myrtle Beach, (John even makes surfboards!), we zeroed in on an area where they used to picnic as college kids. Tori knew of an old golf course tee that overlooked the whole valley and so we made our way out there to see what magic we could capture.

The pair is excited to get to their wedding day at The Winslow in Baltimore, but both are really looking forward to slowing down and enjoying the party. Tori told me that she never imagined her wedding day growing up, so in true boho fashion, she’s excited to relax and go with the flow on their wedding day and hang out with their people.

Their wedding will be a formal affair with lots of earthy tones, but the couple is most excited to bring everyone they love all together and celebrate as one big, new happy family.
